Plan to reintroduce Leadbetter Assisted Dying Bill to Parliament

It was announced on Sunday June 14th night  that Lauren Edwards, the Labour MP for Rochester and Strood, has decided to use her number 2 spot in the private members bill ballot to reintroduce the Leadbeater assisted suicide bill.She is taking forward an identical bill – that not a single royal college, medical body or disability organisation could support


They are taking this route because in order to invoke the Parliament Acts - and bypass the House of Lords, who did the hard work of exposing the myriad flaws of the Bill – they must introduce an identical bill.

The Second Reading is expected to take place on 11th September.
