The Times defends the Lords' lengthy debate on Assisted Dying

The debate on whether the UK should legislate for ‘assisted dying’ continues. The Times second leader today (January 12 £ https://www.thetimes.com/comment/the-times-view/article/leading-article-assisted-dying-bill-kim-leadbetter-jg2x0p7z7 ) calls Assisted Dying ‘State Sponsored Suicide’ and defends the length of time and number of amendments that the Lords have put forward. It notes that “in a poorly drafted, unworkable bill….the elderly, vulnerable and mentally unwell ..risk being coerced into ending their lives prematurely and against their interests.”
